Google’s Moto X Brings The Virtual Assistant Hands Free (Video)

The first Moto X commercial is out, showcasing Google’s latest flagship phone, and the first ad has a particular focus on the Google/Motorola Moto X’s modified Google Now. Google Now – Google’s voice search/assistant service which can already find restaurants, and direct you to your appointments amongst other things- now requires no touch interaction. Without even picking up your Moto X, you can ask for directions, send a text, find a restaurant, or look up movies amongst other things.

Not mentioned in the ad is the incredible technology at work here. A separate low-power core processes sounds 24/7, looking for the words “Ok, Google Now”, to activate. This allows the phone to always be at your assistance, without draining the battery. In practice, it’s pretty stunning. Check it out in the commercial below.
