Hotel Entertainment Goes Mobile- Review

Recently I was on vacation, and I turned on the TV of my hotel room, and a QR code (scannable smartphone image) popped onto my screen. It was a code to access an app on my phone to control the TV.

Lodgenet (Free) is a fantastic little app that really represents the future of entertainment technology. For the duration of my stay, I controlled my TV from my phone and it made things so easy. For one, the TV guide was clickable, meaning finding channels to watch was a breeze. The volume was instantaneous and intuitive allowing me to quickly move the volume way up and down. When you’re staying in a messy hotel room, the efficiency and time-savings of an app like this is invaluable. No searching for the lost remote. No searching through a list of channels for the one you want. I didn’t even have to be in the room to turn off the TV. I forgot on my way to dinner, and did it from the lobby of the hotel via my phone. It’s really an incredible piece of tech which I would recommend you check out on your next stay to many major hotels. This is the future!
