An Earth-shattering Reality

What is the future of glass? Over the past ten years we have learned that glass is not just for windows. New see-through OLED glass screens will soon be in use for advertising on supermarket freezers. Windows on the new Boeing 787 are dimmable. Literally hundreds of millions of glass-screened smartphones, and tablet devices get use daily by millions of people around the world.

So what is the future of glass? Corning, maker of glass for the iphone, ipad, and hundreds of other devices released their concept of the future of glass in a cool video which begs the question “How will technology (glass made technology) change our lives?”.  In the stunning five and a half minute video we see touch screen mirrors with social, and entertainment functionalities. We see flat touch screen virtual cooking. A stove completely adjustable by touch from it’s surface. Possibly the coolest though, is a touch screen refrigerator door, which allows you to hang pictures on your refrigerator door. This made me realize, technology will evolve, but life will always be a constant. I’m looking forward to these new technologies. Check out the cool video below. Bye for now.
