Free iphone 4S!…In China?

Yes it is true. China Unicom is now offering the iphone 4S for free with data package. The data packages start at around $45 a month. Not bad considering that the base price in the U.S for the 4S is $199.

They have the advantage of not having to ship the 4S overseas. For them “made in China” is a convenience. So can the iphone be successful in a country whose internet is so tightly controlled? We’ll have to see. In the meantime, enjoy your Siri China!
