How To Repurpose Vintage iPod Gear for Your iphone

“One man’s trash is another man’s treasure”.  I feel like this applies to our idevices. While all of the accessories we buy for each “revolutionary” device  we buy seasonally cost us a fortune. We’re a throwout culture. If you save those accessories, you can put them to good use with your other devices using this post. Here are a few repurposing ideas.

I recently found a dock from one of my first ipods and boy is it nice. It is the usual nice white Apple plastic with sharp edges like the one at right. I now use it to charge my iphone, and it works perfectly (One warning: It may not fit in dock with many cases). It still works like a charm.

I dug up my old ihome alarm clock the other day and it has worked as a nice speaker system- although it doesn’t charge iphones. I’m making good use of it, as I am of an old giant boom box I found.
